There is something incredibly satisfying about collecting fresh eggs from your own chickens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It might seem like a simple part of everyday life\u2014walking outside, checking the nesting boxes, and coming back inside with a handful of beautiful brown eggs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But for me, it represents something much bigger: the rewards of caring for something, the beauty of a simpler life, and appreciating the little things we often take for granted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every week, our chickens provide us with fresh eggs, and every collection feels like a small gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is something special about knowing exactly where your food comes from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These aren’t eggs sitting on a supermarket shelf after travelling through a long supply chain. They come from our own chickens, who we feed, care for and watch going about their daily lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And no two eggs seem exactly the same.
Some are slightly bigger, some smaller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some have perfectly smooth shells, while others have little marks and imperfections. But that’s part of what makes them special. They are natural, real and produced by our own chickens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our chickens have also become part of our home and family routine. They aren’t simply there to provide eggs. They have personalities, habits and their own little characters. Watching them scratch around, search for food and interact with one another can be surprisingly entertaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is something peaceful about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a world where life can become so busy, sometimes the simplest things bring us back to what really matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Collecting a few eggs might only take a couple of minutes, but it reminds me to slow down and appreciate what we have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It reminds me that good things often come from consistency, patience and care.
And then there is breakfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cracking open an egg that was collected from our own chickens and putting it on the plate is a small luxury. Whether it’s scrambled eggs, an omelette, eggs on toast or simply a fried egg alongside a meal, there is something satisfying about eating food that came directly from your own backyard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our weekly egg collection is therefore about much more than eggs.
It’s about the chickens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s about caring for animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s about providing for our family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And most importantly, it’s about appreciating the little blessings that are right in front of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes we spend so much time chasing the big moments that we forget how meaningful the small ones can be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Four fresh eggs in your hand may not seem like much to some people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But to me, they represent four little reminders that there is beauty in simplicity, value in hard work, and something truly special about growing and providing together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
