We\u2019ve all had those moments where a notification pops up, you take one look at the screen, and your first thought is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAbsolutely not.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


That was me this morning. My personal trainer sent over a new challenge for time, and as I scrolled through the list of movements, I genuinely thought he\u2019d lost his mind. I doubted myself instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workout looked hectic, punishing, and\u2014honestly\u2014a little bit impossible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


But here\u2019s the thing about being competitive: once that seed is planted, you can\u2019t just walk away. I traded my doubt for determination and laced up my trainers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The Gauntlet<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The “menu” for the day was a full-body gauntlet designed to test every ounce of my stamina:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Highs and the Heavy Hits<\/p>\n\n\n\n


I started with a burst of pure adrenaline. I was flying on the Ski-Erg, my energy was peaking, and I felt untouchable. But the gym has a way of humbling you quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the time I hit the halfway mark of those 40 dumbbell thrusters, the 25kg felt like a ton of bricks. My arms were heavy, my breath was getting ragged, but I refused to drop the weights. I pushed through, knowing time was still on my side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then came the Assault Bike. If you know, you know. The first 25 calories felt like wading through sludge. My legs were slowing down, my heart was hammering against my ribs, and I was frustrated with my pace. I knew if I wanted to break the 40-minute mark, I had to find a second gear I wasn\u2019t sure I had.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facing the Fear: The Toes-to-Bar<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The second-to-last movement was the one I dreaded most: Toes-to-Bar. I\u2019ve always been self-conscious about these, worried that I looked awkward or that people were judging my form. But with the clock ticking,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn’t have room for ego. I gave it everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The Lesson: When I got home and watched the videos I filmed, I was shocked. I didn’t look “awkward”\u2014I looked strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was way better than I imagined. Next time, I\u2019m walking up to that bar with my head held high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final 50 calories on the Ski-Erg felt like an eternity. Every pull was a battle of will. When I finally hit the target, I glanced down at my watch: 35 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


I wanted to scream. I wanted to dance. I wanted to tell everyone in the gym that the person who doubted themselves 40 minutes ago was gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Aftermath<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Right now, my body feels electric. My abs feel like they\u2019ve done a thousand sit-ups, and my legs have “exploded” with definition I didn’t even know was possible. Looking in the mirror, the pump is real, and the pride is even deeper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


This wasn’t just a workout; it was a reminder that our limits are often just stories we tell ourselves. Next goal? Sub-30 minutes. Watch this space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
