My journey: fitness, trails, travel, and tranquility

Flowers, Mud, and Victory!

What a day at Prime View!

The streams were irresistible—our dogs dove in every chance they got, splashing with pure happiness. The road was lined with bursts of color: fiery orange blossoms, deep and light purple petals, crisp whites, and bold reds, all swaying gently as the trees whispered in the breeze. Bushes framed the path with wild textures, and the corn fields stretched endlessly, golden and alive.

We ran through puddles of mud that splattered joyfully, crossed a little bridge that felt like a gateway to the next adventure, and near the end, the soft patter of light rain added music to the moment—each drop a rhythm against the leaves and our strides.

My husband ran 15km with Rose, and I pushed through 21.1km with Connor—our loyal German Shorthaired Pointers leading the way. 🐕💨 Sharing the first 15km together was magical. I love him so much, and running side by side made the miles fly by.

And the best part? We placed! 🏅 My husband and Rose came in 2nd place in the 15km, while Connor and I proudly took 3rd place in the half marathon. On top of that, I smashed my own records—new personal bests in the 5km, 15km, 20km, and half marathon. Proud, ecstatic, and grateful for every step.

“The journey is the reward.”
